Do you take insurance?I work with insurance companies as an out-of network (OON) provider. At the end of the month my office will provide you with a statement, which you may submit to your insurance company for OON reimbursement. Many of my clients find that their benefits cover some, if not most of the treatment costs. How much is covered depends on your particular policy, including deductibles and coinsurances. If you are unsure about your benefit coverage, contact me and I will help you determine your options.

What is therapy like?Therapy will differ from person to person, depending on your individual circumstances and needs. In general you can expect to discuss what is currently happening in your life, relevant personal history, and insight or progress made in previous sessions. Therapy can be short-term, to address a specific issue, or longer-term, to deal with underlying concerns and to further your personal development. Either way, it is most common to consistently meet with your therapist for weekly sessions. It is important to understand that you will get the most from therapy when you actively participate in the process. The ultimate goal of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back to your life. Therefore, beyond the work you do in sessions, your therapist may suggest things you do outside to support your progress. This could include journaling, noting particular thoughts and behaviors, meditating, or taking action on your goals. Those seeking therapy are open to new perspectives and are ready to make positive change in their lives.

Why do people come to therapy? There are many different reasons why people come to therapy. Some may be going through a major life transition, are not handling stress well, or need help managing low self-esteem, anxiety or depression. Others come to therapy to learn more about themselves, improve relationships, and more effectively work on personal goals. Therapy can provide support, encouragement, and the skills needed to get through difficult periods and life circumstances. Those seeking therapy are ready to address the challenges in their lives and make desired changes.
