Lauren Mistretta, LMHC
Psychotherapy
Sometimes we know that something needs to change, long before we know how or where to begin.
I work with adults who want to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful change in their lives. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loneliness, or feel stuck, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can process and grow.
My approach integrates psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and attachment-based work — exploring how past experiences and relationship patterns shape your present-day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We'll look at both why these patterns developed and how to shift the ones that no longer serve you.
Our work together will offer in-depth exploration and solution-focused strategies, building insight and tools for change. Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and paced to feel safe and manageable. I bring honesty and a touch of dry humor, because I believe the best therapy feels both secure and real. Together, we'll work toward greater clarity, confidence, and more fulfilling connections with yourself and others.

Experience
Before opening my practice I worked at a large group practice in the city, counseled young adults at a local college counseling center and worked in inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment facilities at a medical center. I am grateful to get to work with the clients I do.
